Exploring the themes of troubled children-parent relationships, the movie tells the story of a young protagonist who forms a curious relationship with his birth 母亲 who once abandoned him. Inspired by true events, the idea for the film originated 13 years ago as a project by Jacques Audiard, after reading an article by Emmanuel Carrere.
