谢旗
中山大学生命科学学院特聘教授
谢旗,男,1963年7月出生,遗传学家,博士及博士后,中山大学生命科学学院特聘教授。1987年7月毕业于中山大学生物系获得学士;1990年获得广东省微生物研究所硕士学位,并于同年获得欧洲共同体奖学金赴马德里康普顿斯大学攻读博士学位,1994年获得分子生物学博士学位;现在中科院遗传与发育生物学研究所工作。他是植物蛋白修饰和降解研究项目的首席科学家,被教育部授予第四批"长江学者"特聘教授称号,并享受国务院政府特殊津贴。谢旗教授的科研成就得到了国家的认可,曾获得国家自然科学奖等多项荣誉。
工作经历
1995年至1998年,谢旗在西班牙马德里自治大学分子生物学中心及美国洛克菲勒大学分别从事博士后研究。1998年起,他被聘为新加坡国立大学分子农业生物学学院研究员,并后续担任植物细胞研究室执行主任。2001年起,谢旗回到中国,任中山大学生命科学院长江学者及特聘教授,组建了植物分子信号传导研究室。他多次受邀至美国、加拿大法国荷兰日本墨西哥等国进行学术报告。
科研成果
主要致力于泛素介导的蛋白修饰及植物逆境胁迫信号传导的分子机制研究。在植物细胞周期调控研究中,于1995年首次向科学界以足够的实 验根据推论植物细胞周期的调控和动物细胞周期的重要相似论——植物中存在类似于动物细胞周期的负调控因子(Retinoblastoma),1996年 首次从植物中分离到全长的Retinoblastoma. 由于该工作给植物细胞周期研究者打下了良好的基础,使得其他细胞周期因子被陆续克隆,除此 以外还参与了另一个植物细胞周期重要调节因子E2F的克隆,该工作也是首次在植物中报道,并获得几项专利,成果分别发表在embo Journal( 1995,1996)上,被引频次超过100次。
1997-2000年作为项目主持人及核心成员参与由美国National Science Foundation及Singapore National Science Council资助的“植物周期调控因子和植物发育的关系”课题。首次证实该植物周期调控因子家族属于植物特有的转录调控 因子并在植物生长素的信号传递方面起着重要作用,在仔细研究其中一个成员NAC1时发现该因子在植物的根系发育上起决定性的作用。该工作 在Genes\u0026Development(2000)上发表,并获专利。
用NAC1作为诱饵从植物中分离到一个新的具有C3HC4 RING Finger的蛋白SINAT5。利用遗传学及生物化学的方法证实了SINAT5负调节NAC1,在生长素的信息传递中起到重要的作用,该成果已登上了英国权威科学期刊自然》Nature杂 志的封面。
此外,由于SINAT5 基因与人体SIAH基因相似,SIAH基因又与对抗肠癌的研究很有关系,新发现的SINAT5基因的研究成果,相信能 为人类癌症研究提供科学的依据及启示。
中国科学院遗传与发育生物学研究所谢旗研究员科研团队与国内多家科研机构和院校合作,经过多年研究发现主效耐碱基因AT1,可以显著提升高粱、水稻、小麦、玉米、谷子等作物在盐碱地上的产量,且在改良盐碱地的综合利用中具有重大应用前景。这一科研成果于北京时间2023年3月24日在国际学术期刊《科学》发表。
